Surgeon: Well, what’s the matter with you?

Patient: You see, I’ve just fallen and I am afraid I’ve broken my leg.

S: Wait a minute. The nurse will help you undress and I’ll examine your leg.

P. Thank you, Doctor. But the pain is so strong that I can hardly bear it.

S. Well, let me see your leg. It seems to me there is no fracture. I suppose it’s just a bad injury. But to make sure you should have your leg X-rayed.

P. All right, Doctor.

Some time later

P. Doctor, here is my X-ray film.

S. I am very glad for you. As I’ve supposed you’ve no fracture, but there is a crack and a bad injury. We shall put a plaster cast and I’m going to prescribe a sedative for you. Besides, you need absolute rest. You’ll be taken to your place in an ambulance and you should stay in bed for 10 days. Then you’ll come for a check-up.

P. Thank you very much, Doctor. Good-bye.

S. Good-bye.
