1.5.1.1 Login running Windows XP. For login use the student name and the password “student”.

1.5.1.2 Run the demo «SCS» at the desktop.

1.5.1.3 Go to «Teaching Lab» (school laboratory) and get acquainted with the structure of the laboratory network. Find your workplace in the scheme and write out information about the PC in a notebook.

1.5.1.4 Find the layout of the crossover cabinet and watch its content. Then in the window that appears, click the corresponding number of the computer in the scheme, at which you are. Then the port will be shown on the switch and on the patch panel, which is connected to your computer. Record data of port numbers in the protocol.

1.5.1.5 Then go to the main menu and view the sections: «SCS», «Telephony», «General Principles». Record a short summary of lab equipment - switch panels and cords, crosses EuroMaster and Panasonic phone, Gigaset 2060 PBX and patch cords forms.

 

1.5.2.1 View computers which are presented in the network with the help of the shortcut My Network Places. Identify and record the general resources provided by the server.

1.5.2.2 Connect the folder «For student» on the server as a network drive to a local computer.

1.5.2.3 Create a desktop folder, assigning it the surname of working student as the name, and submit it for the general use.

1.5.2.4 Identify the character network name (address) of your workstation and check the availability of the resource (folder) to other computers on the network.

1.5.2.5 Get the complete network information about your computer. For this, click «Start», «Run», type cmd the poped up window, and click OK. In the resulting window, type the command ipconfig (for summary) or ipconfig / all (for complete information). Record results in the protocol.

1.5.2.6 Add a tag of any network resource in the My Network Places.

1.5.2.7 Delete created in the process of laboratory work folders from the desktop.

1.6.1 The name of laboratory work.

1.6.2 Purpose of the work.

1.6.3 Results of home assignments.

1.6.4 Short description of the work done.

1.6.5 Conclusions about the work done.

1.6.6 Date, the signature of a student, the remark of a teacher.
