With a partner, identify the proverb by its definition. There may be more than one option




As is known, proverbs are short and wise sayings expressing commonly held ides and beliefs. Proverbs can be universal, reflecting concepts inherent tomany cultures, and culture-specific, that is reflecting ethnolingusitic peculiarities of a specific country.

Write a summary of the passage emphasizing its main points. Pick up and memorize some euphemisms used.

Read the proverbs below and say if they have any equivalents in the Belarusian or Russian languages, at least known to you. If not, what makes them culture-specific, in you opinion?
