The personnel of all the arms and services is grouped into large units, units and small units. The small units are: squad, section, platoon, company, battery (btry). Battalion (bn), regiment and brigade (bde) are units. And the large units include the division (div), the army corps, the field army and the army group/

The smallest and basic military organization is the squad. The platoon is the smallest unit which in commanded by a commissioned officer. Several platoons form a company or a battery. In the division there are from six to fifteen battalions. Divisions are grouped into army corps, the army corps into field armies and field armies into army groups.
