Text Sports

Sport is very popular nowadays. More and more people go in for sport. In every village, town or city there are athletes, sports fans or people who just enjoy watching sports competitions on TV. Sport is health and a wonderful rest after which you feel fresh and ready to do all kinds of men­tal work.

If a man wants to become a good athlete, take part in great competi­tions, be a champion he should train many hours a day, follow a special diet, always have a good sleep. It is not easy but "Practice makes per­fect", people say.

There are a lot of places where one can train: sports grounds and gyms, stadiums and sports palaces, swimming pools and just yards, parks, woods. Some people who like jogging train in the street. It's no good as the air is dirty there.

There are so many kinds of sport and games that one can easily choose something which is interesting for him: swimming, gymnastics, track-and-field and heavy athletics, skiing, skating, football, tennis... The list of them is endless. There are sports that are aimed at making a man stronger, others can make you more deft and plastic. Lots of girls and women nowadays choose aerobics which is a combination of sport, danc­ing and music. Healthy and active way of life has become popular and fashionable and many young people choose sport and games to be strong and beautiful.

As for me, I just love table tennis. I learnt to play it when I was a child. My aunt was my first trainer. I am fond of this game because it is very active and merry. We like to go to the gym together with my friends. We play in turn and watch each other play. And we always laugh and joke during the game. We can play for hours and never get tired. It isn't very important to us who wins, the main thing is that we are always in a good mood after playing.

Many of my friends like table tennis as it is available and its rules are simple. You don't need any special expensive equipment to play it, just a table, a net, two bats and a ball. Some people have tables for ping-pong in the yards and even at home. This game makes you deft and cheerful.
