There are more then 250 different types of shark in the sea. The smallest shark are called ‘dog fish’’. They are about pl meter long. The largest shark is the enormous “whale shark”. It is about 18 meters from nose to tail. Sharks have very good nose – they find their food with their noses. They smell their food under the water and then they swim catch it.

Sharks have very strong tails. Some sharks can swim very fast with their strong tails, but other sharks are slower. The big whale shark cannot swim very fast.

Shark have very strong, sharp teeth too. They usually catch and eat other, smaller fish, but sometimes they attack people swimming in warmer water near the beach. Sharks are the most dangerous animals in the sea!
