Before you read the text, look at the title. What do you expect the text to be about?

New Zealand is a rich country, most of its wealth being due to agricultural activities. The rate of life in New Zealand is really high. Within last decade efforts of the government are directed on change economy, mainly agrarian and dependent on the Great Britain, on the free market of economic. GDP made in 2010 $56,4 billion. The most advanced industries: food, pulp-and-paper, chemical, machine-building, textile. In an advanced agriculture (9 % GDP), directed mainly on the foreign markets, conducting place belongs to animal industries (about 80 % of total amount of agricultural production). The important place in a national economy is borrowed (occupied) also with forestry and fishery. Monetary unit - dollar of New Zealand (1 dollar of New Zealand (NZ $) is equal to 100 cents). The major trading partners: the countries of EU, Japan, Australia, USA. General extent of railways - 4 716 kms, motorways of-92 648 kms (49 547 kms - roads with a firm covering), internal waterways - 1 609 kms. The main ports of the country: Wellington, Oakland.

The government is formed of the governor and 2 chambers. In the first - Legislative Council there are 44 members, in the second - the Chamber of Deputies there are 80 members (4 representatives of maori). Both are selected on universal suffrage. New Zealand is divided into 9 provinces.

The New Zealand dollar (the Rate for July, 4, 2010: 1.6817 NZD = 1 USD) equals 100 cents. In circulation there are coins of denomination in 5, 10, 20, 50 cents, 1 and 2 dollars and banknotes mostly in 5, 10, 50, 100 dollars denomination. All kinds of the international plastic cards (maps) and tourist checks are served. Import and export of foreign and national currency is not limited (the declaration is obligatory, if the sum exceeds 10000 New Zealand Dollars)

The state tax to the goods and services (GST) makes 12,5 % and increases to cost of all goods and services. All prices in shops already include GST if it is not stipulated differently.
