Mechanics of electric drive

Mechanical motion from electric motor shaft to actuator mechanism (or inversely, from actuator mechanism to motor) is realized with the help of mechanical transmission device (MTD), that in general case comprises some definite element number of ED mechanical parts:

- gears;

- converting links.

By value the electric power of a drive (Pel), mechanical power of EM (Pmx1), MTD (Pmx2) and actuator mechanism power (Pmx3) are differentiated with the view consideration of respective efficiency values.

Construction design and MTD complexity is primarily determined with particulars of dynamic conditions of AM, by the character of production process, EM features and its regulative systems. The most developed MTD is in completely regulated drives with complex character of AM motion. Coordinates regulation and change of character of motion in such cases is realized not only in EM, but also in MTD.

Such circumstances made possibility to conclude: the more the motor and its control system are improved, the more different dynamic states are realized, and the simplest MTD will be. Now such perfect ED with technical indices still do not exist, but there exist the whole number of modern ED with developed complex, or extremely complex MTD.

And vice versa, the kinematic link of ED may be rather simple (sometimes mechanical part of ED is almost absent, and the motor shaft is directly connected with actuator mechanism).

Actuator mechanisms (in respect with designation) are:

- hook;

- cage;

- grab;

- spindle;

- table;

- socket;

- role (rolling mills);

- die (presses);

- buckets (excavators);

- conveyor bolts;

- propeller (air and water ships);
