Exercise 8 Dress code statements

· Everyone should be allowed to wear exactly what they want.

· School uniform is a good idea.

· Nobody should have to wear a uniform at school or work.

· People should be free to choose their own hair style.

Exercise8. Role play

	Student A is wearing something totally unsuitable for school. Try to justify your choice to the teacher. You must try to avoid being sent home to change.

	Student B: You are an angry teacher. Student A is wearing something totally unsuitable today. Ask him or her to go home and get changed. Explain your reasons.

b) How to replay to a greeting:

c) How to respond to bad news:

A: How’s your brother?

B: Not too good, I’m afraid.

A: I’m sorry to hear that.

d) How to respond to good news:

A: Bill has won the race!

B: I’m glad (pleased) to hear that.

Oh, that’s great.

Oh, that’s good.

e) How to take your leave:

Well, I must be off. Good-bye. (formal and informal)

I must be going. Bye./Bye-bye. (informal)

See you later/soon/tomorrow, etc.

f) How to send someone you regards:

Give my regards to your wife.

Remember me to your family.
