Sandra: Good morning.

Shop assistant: Good morning. Can I help you?

Sandra: Yes. I bought this skirt here but it's the wrong size.

Shop assistant: When did you buy it?

Sandra: I bought it on Friday. But I haven't the receipt.

Shop assistant: I'm afraid I can't change the skirt with­out the receipt. Who sold this skirt to you?

Sandra: I don't see this assistant now.

Hob: What sort of music do you like, Carol?

Carol: I like classical music, opera.

Hob: I find opera boring. I prefer modern music. My other great interest is sport. Do you like sport?

Carol: I like basketball. ButI don't have a lot of free time for playing.

Hob: It's a great game. I play every Sunday. Oh, I am late for work! Nice to meet you. Bye!

Patient: Good morning doctor.

Doctor: Good morning. Your cough is terrible. How long have you had it?

Patient: For about a week.

Doctor: I want to listen to your chest. Take off your shirt and breath deeply. Do you smoke?

Patient: Yes, I do. But only seven cigarettes a day.

Doctor: You have to stop smoking. Smoking will do no good for you health.

Patient: O.K. doctor. I will follow your advice.

Josh: Hello, Martin! I haven't seen you for a long time.

Martin: Hello, Josh. I have moved house.

Josh: When did you move?

Martin: About three years ago.

Josh: It has been a long time then. Funny, you haven't changed a lot. Let's go to the cafe and have a talk. Martin: Sorry, but I will be late for work if I stay with you. Let's meet in the evening.

Josh: I finish working at seven. Here is my telephone number. If you are free we will meet at a half past seven.

Martin: I'm sure I will not be busy at this time. Good-bye.

Alice: Howare things with Ann?

Jane: She's just come back from France. She spent a won­derful week in Paris.

Alice: I want to give her a ring next week. Perhaps she will agree to have lunch with me.

Jane: I'm sure she will but I think she is going to Australia next week.

Alice: Let's ring her now. I will be glad to see her before her departure.

Jane: All right!

Ted: I have to entertain my Italian cousin on Saturday evening. I have no ideas where to take him.

Ray: Take him to the cinema.

Ted: I think it's boring. He can see a film at home.

Ray: I recommend you to take him to a restaurant and then you can go to discos.

Ted: I don't like discos as they are always crowded.

Ray: All good discos are crowded. Anyway you have to entertain your guest.

Ted: You are right. Let's go there. Will you join our company?

Ray: With pleasure.
