1) Young people often have a person they admire and use this person as a role model. 2) To my mind, having a role model is quite natural because young people need some example to imitate. 3) No matter who this person is — an actor or an actress, a sportsman or a politician, a literary character or some other outstanding person, your teacher or your parents. 4) You must respect this person and have a wish to copy him or her. 5) It is rather difficult to name the most popular person with the young people in our country.

6) And it is not necessary, to my mind. 7) We are different and we have different aims in our life so we need to have different role models. 8) Girls usually imitate famous actresses and other celebrities. 9) They look for information about the life and work of their role models, copy their behaviour, style of clothes and

hairstyles, they buy make-up of the same brands and keep to the same diets. 10) Boys often imitate sportsmen or some musicians. 11) As for me, I admire my father and I want to resemble him. 12) My father is a serious and hardworking man. 13) He is a successful person because he has his own business. 14) My

father is a determined man and works a lot to achieve his aim. 15) He is also a reliable person and always keeps his word, that’s why his business partners trust him. 16) My father hasn’t got many friends but his friends know that he won’t betray them. 17) Although my father is a serious person, he has got a good

sense of humour and I you’ll never feel bored in his company. 18) He knows a lot and can speak about politics as well as about art or history. 19) I’d like to be as determined and hardworking as my father. 20) To my mind, these traits are the most necessary to get success in life and business. 21) And of course, to be a fascinating person, I must get an excellent education. 22) I will do my best so that my father could be proud of me.

1) Environmental pollution is a burning problem of our society. 2) Industrial and household waste is the result of human activity. 3) Our cities and towns suffer from a huge amount of waste of different kinds. 4) Cans, bottles and paper don’t make the place we live in look attractive and also pollute the soil. 5) The best solution of this problem is recycling though we do not hear much about it in our schools. 6) Recycling means collecting waste or used materials and reusing them to produce new products. 7) Of course, not all

kinds of materials can be recycled. 8) The items that are typically recycled are glass and plastic bottles, aluminium cans, paper and things made of wood and plastic. 9) The development of modern technologies and equipment allows recycling the waste and produce new goods which are necessary for people. 10) Recycling also helps to save energy and important resources and reduce the amount of rubbish and the space we need for our waste. 11) The benefits of recycling are obvious and every person should understand it. 12) That’s why learning about recycling at school is very important. 13) Young people must know about simple ways to protect the environment we live in and do their best to keep our cities, towns and homes clean. 14) To prepare things for recycling isn’t difficult. 15) You should just follow some simple rules, just the things I do at home. 16) First of all, you should collect and sort out your rubbish. 17) You should put glass, aluminium and paper waste into different bins which are provided in many areas. 18) These bins have appropriate signs so that people could use the right bin for their rubbish. 19) At least once a week the rubbish is collected and delivered to special factories where it is recycled. 20) As you see, the rules are easy to follow and everyone can do it to contribute to environmental protection.
