Step 4. Job interview. The job interview has become a science. There is an important point to remember: it is a dialogue and you are an active participant. A typical job interview usually consists of four principal parts:

- introduction;

- main part – discussing of the interviewee’s background and credentials;

- conclusion – answering the interviewee’s questions;

- parting thanking and saying good-bye.

Although you cannot predict the interviewer’s questions, you can draw up a list of common questions:

1. What makes you want to work for this company?

2. Why do you think you would be good at this particular job?

3. What do you think has been your greatest achievements in your career?

4. What are your strengths (weaknesses)?

5. What do you like best \ least at your last job?

6. Where do you see yourself professionally in three years’ time?

Usually you are invited at the end of the interview to ask questions of your own. It is important to have them ready. Foe example:

1. Does the company plan to expand in the near future?

2. Will there be opportunities for training?

3. What are the specific duties of the job?

4. How many people will I be working with?

5. What is the work schedule?

6. What package does your company offer?

The interviewer will probably tell you about the salary and working hours. Showing too much interest in lunch time, vacations, sick leave or sort working hours may give the impression that you are more interested in time off than the tin on. Most experts agree that you should not ask about the salary and benefits unless you are sure the employer is seriously considering of hiring you.

When you leave an interview, thank the interviewer for taking time. Ask when you will be notified of the company’s decision. If you haven’t received an answer after three weeks time, follow up with a letter or telephone call.
