On weekdays the alarm-clock wakes me up at 7.30 and my working day begins. I go to the bathroom, take a warm shower, clean my teeth and brush my hair. After that I dress and go to the kitchen to have breakfast. Usually my mother makes breakfast for me. But sometimes I make breakfast myself. I leave the house at 9.00 and go to college.

The college where I study is not far from my house. It takes me 20 minutes to get there. I usually have 3-4 lectures a day. A lecture lasts an hour and a half. The classes begin at 9.30. At 1 o'clock in the afternoon I have lunch in the college canteen.

I come home at about 4.30 o'clock in the afternoon. Usually my mother is at home waiting for me. We have dinner together. Then I have a rest watching TV or reading a book. If the weather is good I go for a walk with my friends. I usually go to bed at 11 o’clock. By the end of the week I get very tired.

3. Discuss the proverbs:

1. Never put off till tomorrow what you can do today. 2. An hour in the morning is worth two in the evening. 3. Lost time is never found again. 4. Value time over money – only time cannot be replenished. 5. Early to bed and early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise.

4. Read, translate the dialogue:

Bob – It’s time to get up.

Patrick – I’m so sleepy… What time is it?

B – It’s eight.

P – All right. I’ll get up at ten past eight (fifteen minutes later).

B – It’s a quarter past eight, Patrick, and you are still in bed.

P – All right… All right… I’ll get up in ten minutes. At half past eight I’ll be ready.

B – And when are you going to shave? Twenty nine minutes past eight? Or perhaps twenty nine minutes to nine?

P – Now you are trying to be funny. I’ll be ready at a quarter to nine and at ten to nine we’ll begin breakfast.

B – We have very little time anyway. Ann’s coming at nine o’clock.

P – Oh, I’m sure she isn’t. She’s too lazy to get up before nine. It’s silly to expect her so early. She’ll be at least one hour late.

B – She won’t be a minute late. She never is.

P – She will… She will… You’ll see she will…

Ann – (coming in): Good morning! I’m sorry I’m a little too early. Oh Patrick, aren’t you ready yet? I’m so sorry… I’ll wait in the garden.

perhaps может быть, возможно, пожалуй
