1. Попит – це кількість товарів та послуг, які споживачі купили б за всі можливі ціни. 2. Попит змінюється обернено пропорційно до ціни, тобто чим нижча ціна, тим вищий попит. 3. Гнучкість попиту описує вплив ціни на кількість товару, на яку існує попит. 4. Попит на товари першої необхідності є негнучким, тобто споживачі купують їх за будь-яку ціну. 5. Наш торгівельний заклад пропонує багато замінників цього продукту. 6. Споживачі очікують зниження ціни на цей продукт.

A.: Please, Natalie, come in. I’d like to listen to your proposals concerning your new assignment.

N.: Well, as far as I know, our work-group (monitor) the customers’ response to our new product. As a group manager I (organize) the study of the feedback from the public on our advertising campaign. I think our team (include) the representatives of various departments: marketing, sales, advertising and production. 1. The shop “Computer World” started a week’s sales campaign for the promotion of Olympus photo cameras. They offered a 5% discount on the following items: Olympus FE-210 (usual price – UAH 732), Olympus FE-230 (usual price –UAH 1030), Olympus μ 760 (usual price – UAH 1304). Usually they sell 5 Olympus FE-210, 4 Olympus FE-230, 3 Olympus μ 760 a week. In the result of the successful sales campaign the shop sold 7 Olympus FE-210, 7 Olympus FE-230, and 5 Olympus μ 760.

a) Calculate and describe the total revenue for a week at usual prices.

b) Calculate the discount price for each item.

c) Calculate and describe the total revenue from the sales campaign.

d) Say how the demand has changed in the result of the sales campaign. Give % for each item.

e) As a sales manager give a short report on the results of the sales campaign.

2. Summarize the information from Unit 3 to be ready to speak on demand. First step to be done is to write a plan of your report.
