Transport planning plays an undeniably key role in the economic growth of any region. However, when done headlessly this planning can be detrimental to the biophysical and social environment of the region. Write project papers considering:

· alternative routes in transport route planning representing the interest of the proponent;

· an environmental impact assessment on these alternatives.

The purpose of this research is to find the effects of transport planning decisions on the physical and socio-economic structure of the cities. Write project papers considering:

· how these effects are distributed amongst different social groups within cities determining whether the transport infrastructure investments are equally spread through the cities or whether they are concentrated on specific areas;

· the changing role of urban and transport planning in terms of generating and maintaining socio-economic equality within cities and regions.

Since transportation is such an important component of contemporary society, capable of producing significant benefits, yet giving rise to many negative externalities, appropriate policies need to be devised to maximize the benefits and minimize the inconveniences. At the same time, the allocation, design and construction of such transport infrastructure and services must be subject to careful planning, both by public and private agencies. · a distinction between policy and planning;

· the changing orientation of public policy;

· the evolving nature of urban transport planning and intervention methods.
