a nutshell?

· In the passage you are going to skim you will probably

have a number of new words/words you don’t know.

· Don’t stop to look up the new words, but try to

understand the main points.

· Concentrate on what the writer is going to say, not on

the words.

· Even if there are many new words, it is important not

to panic.

· You will probably be able to understand them if you

look carefully at the context of each word.

· I think you will be able to understand the new word if

you look at the sentence the word is in and the sentences that

come before and after it.

· The form of the word, its suffix or prefix may also help

you.
