Energy in the form of movement is a type of electrical energy. 3. Energy within substances that can produce a chemical reaction is called kinetic energy. 4. Everybody knows that energy in the form of noise is called sound energy. 5. The spring in a watch, which is wound up and then progressively unwinds, is a type of mechanical energy. 6. Useful energy is used for the purpose. 7. A type of energy, which will be dissipated into the air and not used is called waste energy. 8. The amount of energy needed to do a task – for example, lifting a load to a certain height by crane – is called efficiency. 9. The amount of energy converted in order to perform tasks – in other words, the amount of work done – is measured in amperes. 10.The speed, or rate, at which work is done is called power.
