IV. Which term does each definition refer to?

a) In using this type of plates, the function of the water is replaced by a silicon-rubber layer. When using them it is important to use special ink and to control the temperature of the press. The first manufacturer of this type of plates was a Japanese manufacturer called: Torray. Therefore these plates are sometimes called Torray plates.

b) Printing plate on a base of lithographic aluminum. Its principle is based on the fact that water and ink will not mix. The printing parts of the plate will attract ink. The non-printing parts will attract water.

c) This expression is used when paper (or other printing material) is fed from a reel into a printing press.

d) A fabric coated with synthetic rubber which transfers the image (ink) from the printing palette to the printed substrate (e.g. paper).
