1. When we make a decision about what to do in the future, we use I’ll … (I will), oh, I’ve left the door open, I’ll go and shut it.

2. If our plans are already made, we use the Present Continuous to talk about the future:

What are you doing next week?

3. We use will when the decision is made at the time of speaking, and we use the Present Continuous when the decision was taken before the time of speaking.

4. We use will when we want to make predictions about the future. I think we will sell a lot in Europe in the next five years.

5. Will often abbreviates to –‘ll after personal pronouns, in spoken and written English (I’ll, you’ll, he’ll, etc.)

6. Notice the construction in sentences with if.

3. Look at the conference programmer opposite. Then read the dialogue between two colleagues who are attending the conference. B has decided what to do this morning, but A hasn't. Complete the conversation with the correct form of the verb.

B: I'll go / I'm going to the talk by Graham Overwood. You too?

A:I don't know. What will he talk / is he talking about?

B: Meditation techniques.
