Exercise 1. Two halves of the following proverbs have got mixed up. Match the endings on the right to the beginnings on the left. Give the explanation of them in English.

Exercise 2. Read the following words and define their part of speech (noun, adjective and verb). Decide where the stress falls in each word. Underline the stressed syllable(s).
