a) When I’m writing lyrics for my songs, I love going to the country.
It’s great just to be able to escape from the city in actually green air staying cooked upon a time. I love riding horses and playing with my dogs and just being outside, being in nature it’s really inspiring for me.

b) It all began on New Year’s Day in my thirty-second year of being single. Once again I found myself on my own and going to my mother’s annual turkey curry buffet. Every year she tries to fix me up with some bushy-haired middle-aged bore and I feared that this year would be no exception.

I was reading in a magazine the other day about how common obesity is now. Some new research has found that over forty percent of the population is overweight. Most people in this survey said they’d rather drive than walk, and that it’s better to spend leisure time at home than outside. That’s understandable
in the winter, I guess, but surely everyone can build some exercise into their daily schedule?

5. What regions of Britain are characterized by similar pronunciation
of such words as luck and look?

6. In what region is the lake with a famous monster Nessy situated? How is the name of this lake pronounced a) by local residents, b) in the south of England?

7. What characteristic features of the lower class accent pronunciation was the main character of the film “My Fair Lady” Eliza Doolittle trying
to get rid of with the help of the phonetic exercises?

a) The rain in Spain stays mainly in the plain.

b) In Hertford, Hereford and Hampshire hurricanes hardly ever happen
