Let me introduce myself. I’m Ivan Petrov. I am 20 years old. I was born on the 29^th of March 1989 in Vitebsk. As to my appearance I’m rather tall and slim, I have blond hair and blue eyes. I think I am friendly, hard-working and serious. My hobbies are dancing, music and sport. I study by correspondence at the Vitebsk State Academy of Veterinary Medicine. I am not married yet. I live with my family. We are happy to be together.

4. Read the following text. Define the general idea of this text. Suggest your title to the text.

British families are usually quite small. An average family consists of a mother, a father and two or three children. No one is really sure how it is possible to have four children. It is quite rare in Britain for grandparents, aunts and uncles to share the house with the family. However, families often share the house with dogs, cats, goldfish and even rabbits which they keep not to eat, but as pets.

- Families are basically the same.

- People need to be a part of a family in order to be happy.

- There is no place like home.

The Vitebsk State Academy of Veterinary Medicine was founded in 1924 and was introduced as the Vitebsk Veterinary Institute. In 1974 the Institute was awarded the «Badge of Honour» Order. In 1994 the institute was reorganized into the Vitebsk State Acad­emy of Veterinary Medicine. Now it is a modern educational and research centre.

The Academy is located in several buildings. Some of them were built in the pre-war period and some are modern and new.

The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnological Faculty train students to become skilled veterinary medicine or animal husbandry professionals.

Some students begin their studies at the preparatory department. Those who want to combine work and studies can study by correspondence.

Veterinary and zooengineering specialists can develop their qualification at the up-dating faculty.

There are academicians, professors and doctors of sciences on the staff of the Academy.

The faculties comprise 28 departments.

Students attend lectures and practical classes.
