Guide: Ladies and gentlemen! Take your seats. Our route takes us to the centre of the city where we’ll find several historical buildings.
Visitor: Well, let’s start! What’s on our right?
Guide: Oh, that! It’s our museum, one of the finest buildings in the town. It’s open to the public from 2 till 6 p. m. except Mondays.
Visitor: It looks grand. When was it built?
Guide: In 1930. You may get off here and take pictures if you like.
Visitor: Great! We are lucky! Such a lovely day for pictures! What a wonderful view!
Guide: Will you get in, please? We are pressed for time... Now we are approaching the highest splended structure, the hotel "Arktika".
Visitor: You mean that sky-scraper? It’s marvelous and too modern, I think. And the continuous stream of traffic is very colourful.
Guide: Ladies and gentlemen! On the left you can see the merchant port. There are some docks where ships are loaded and unloaded. Some atomic ice-breakers such as the Vaigatch, the Soviet Union, the Taimyr are in the port now. You see the port is full of life and activity.
Visitor: Look! What type of ship is moving upwards?
Guide: This is a drilling rig "Shelf-8". Since 1981 the new special vessels have joined the fleet: supply tug-vessels type "Neftegaz", the drilling vessel "Sprut" and others.
Visitor: What is the monument in the centre of the square?
Guide: There to the right you see the monument to Anatoly Bredov, the hero of the Soviet Union. There are some monuments in Murmansk erected in memory of the Great Patriotic War.
Visitor: This square reminds me my own city.
Guide: Ladies and gentlemen! This is the end of our tour. Now, are there any questions?
Visitor: Thank you very much. Everything was so nice. We have really enjoyed it!
Guide: So, if you like our Murman – we will be glad to see you here again. Welcome to our parts one more time!
