TEXT 9. CONDITIONS OF CONTRACT

1. «Ticket» (passenger ticket and baggage check) means a document con­idning of flight and other coupons completed and issued by the carrier and certifying the contract to carry the passenger and his checked baggage.

(<International Carriage>> means such carriage when place of departure and place of destination are located either on the territory of two countries or on *e territory of one country with scheduled stopping on the territory of another Country. '

«Carrier> means air carrier issuing this ticket and also all air carriers that carry or undertake to carry the passenger or his baggage hereunder or perform any other service incidental to such air carriage.

«Warsaw Convention>> means the Convention for the Unification of Cer­ tain Rules Relating to International Carriage signed at Warsaw on October 12, 1929, as amended at the Hague in 1955.

2. Carriage hereunder is subject to the rules and limitations relating to liability by the Warsaw Cdnvention unless such carriage is not «International Carriage>> as defined by that Convention.

Responsibility of the tour organizer. Finnair has produced these tours in cooperation with the companies responsible for., the land arrange­ments and together with them operates as the responsible tour organizer.

The tour organizer will do all possible to successfully carry out the tours in this brochure. However, the tour organizer reserves the right to change prices and scheduling if unforeseen cases occur. The tour organizer is not respon­sible for any changes which are not due to the tour operator, not for changes that appear after the printing of this brochure, not for misprints.

The tour organizer is not responsible for losses or expenses in the event of force majeure, such as natural catastrophes, or other corresponding causes. At the time of printing, the Finnair winter timetables for this year were not yet confirmed. All rates are subject to change.

The prices are given per person in a shared double room providing that there is double occupancy in the room and both tours are purchased simultaneously at the same sales location. The price for a person travelling alone will be constructed by adding the single room supplement to the basic price. When accommodation is in a cottage, the price of the cottage is calculated by the number of the persons sharing it, adults or children.

Children's discounts. On Finnair's domestic package tour, children's

prices are normally applied as follows:

- under 2-year-olds travel free on their parents laps. In this case they are entitled neither to their own seats in the airplane nor to separate beds in the hotel. •

- 2 to 16-year-olds pay 50% of the package price when accompanied by two adults. When a 2 to 16-year-old is accompanied by one adult only, he pays 50% of the package price and a single room supplement is added to the adults package price. Some hotels offer their own discounts. Please inquire.

Payment terms. The tours have to be paid not later than 14 days before departure. Tours reserved later should be paid upon reservation.

Cancellation terms. If the cancellation is made later than 14 days before departure, the tour organizer has the right to request the price of the land arrangements from the client.

Insurance. Baggage and cancellation insurance is highly recommended. Please contact your travel agent.

A note about the new VAT. The vacation packages described in this brochure include the value-added tax (VAT) that went into effect on June 1, 1994.

This means: Hotel and cabin breakfasts 22%. Program services 22%. Land transportations 6%.

The prices for domestic flights given in this brochure do not include the VAT since it is not charged provided that the domestic flight takes place immediately (i.e. within 12 hours) upon arrival from abroad. In case the domestic flight is later than 12 'hours after arrival, or there is no international flight connected to the return domestic flight, a 6% VAT is added to the given price.

Reservations. Finnair Tours are produced to be sold in conjunction with an International Finnair flight.

Reservations for all tours in this brochure can be made through:

- Travel agencies,

- Finnair offices,

- Finnair Tour Desk in Helsinki.
