Aircraft preparation for repair




From total amount of technological stages, which performs during overhaul, it can be highlight complex of works which should be done before the repair, namely: preparation of the AT for the repair. Quality of renovated aircraft or engine depends on organizational level of AEROTECHICS preparation for the repair.

In general, the preparation of AEROTECHICS for repair comes down into taking it for repair, disassembling, washing and purification, fault detection and acquisition. The complexity of the process takes around 20 - 30% of the total labor overhaul.

The aircraft receiving from the customer for overhaul consist of checking its completeness and control documentation. The following documents come with the aircraft:

- certificate of airworthiness;

- Logbook of the aircraft, engine, aggregates and devices with the mark of flight duration.

While aircraft coming for the repair, the acceptance act is made. It includes:

- Information of the aircraft;

- Aircraft completeness during depositing for repair;

- The technical condition of the aircraft when depositing for repair.

Acceptance act is made by commission which consists of aircraft repair company representatives, the selection committee chairman and representative of the operational unit.

In the acceptance act the number of flying hours and landings since the last operation and repair of aircraft, numbers of repairs carried out are indicated. Similar data are lead about the engine.

Storage and transport of the aircraft on the plant and department territory. Before disassembly the aircraft is stored on the concrete anchorage. At this time it is necessary to remove batteries, drained fuel, make aircraft grounded and make aircraft conservation.All holes in the engine are closed, metal parts without protective coating (rod hydraulic cylinders, hinged connections, etc.) are covered with a protective layer of Vaseline. Engines and pneumatics wheel are covered.

Preliminary fault detection of the aircraft. Preliminary fault detection takes place after preliminary aircraft clearing, that perform the removal of various contaminants from the surface. For this purpose special washing machines are used. External purification is made with warm water using special synthetic detergents, such as "Aerola."

Preliminary fault detection is the first stage in the process of determining the technical state of the AT. During preliminary fault detection the presence of gross damages is detected (deformation, cracks, corrosion, breaks of rivet connections and so on.), which is easily detected with the naked eye.

Previous fault detectionof the aircraft always begins with the verification processes of its geometrical parameters.

Previous fault detection includes one of the main types of work - leveling, it is particularly important for the aircrafts that were crashed. Leveling is performed when the aircraft is empty (without fuel), on a special platform in calm weather. Before leveling the aircraft is set in a line of horizontal flight, for this the hydraulic lifts and leveling instrument are used. Hydraulic lifts helps to achieve necessary transverse and longitudinal position of the aircraft for digital pairwise values ​​of reference points on the wing (lateral position) and reference points on the tail and nose parts of the aircrafts surface (longitudinal position) were identical relativelyfor building aircrafts horizontal(horizontal axis of leveling instrument sighting).

Digital valuesof position of other reference points on the surface of the aircraft are determined after installing the aircraft into the line of horizontal flight.

During leveling it is necessary to fill in the leveling passport and specialleveling cart where the results of determining the position of corresponding reference points are written. On each aircraft during leveling the position of reference (control) points on the surface of the aircraft, typical for this type of aircraft, is defined.
