7.5.1Researche the work of the protocol DHCP:

- run the protocol analyzer EtherPeek;

- establish screen capture;

- connect the filter to capture the DHCP packets;

7.5.2 Research the work of the FTP protocol:

7.5.3 Research the work of the protocol ARP, when the sender and receiver are located on the same network:

- identify the MAC-address and IP-addresses of the computers A and B;

- create four filters: the first - to capture the ARP-requests from computer A, the second - to capture the ARP-response from computer B to computer A, the third - to capture echo requests from computer A to computer B and the fourth - to capture echo-response computer B computer a (it is recommended to create a third filter to capture the echo requests from computer A to any computer, and the fourth - to capturethe echo response from any computer to computer A);

- launch a new window capture;

- connect by filters;

- clear the ARP-table;

- start the process of packet capture, and at the command prompt, type the command ping an IP-address of the computer B;

- perform an analysis of captured packets.

 

7.5.4 Investigate the work of the protocol ARP, when the sender and receiver are on different networks:

- establish a new window capture;

- connect the filters created in paragraph 7.5.3;

- clear the ARP-table;

- start the process of packet capture, and at the command prompt, enter the command ping an IP-address of the computer C (given by the teacher);

- perform an analysis of captured packets.

 

7.5.5 Research the work of the ARP protocol to verify the presence of a network of identical IP-addresses:

- determine the IP-addresses of the computers A and B;

- the PC And in a protocol analyzer, two filters - one for the capture of broadcast ARP-requests from computer B, and another - to capture the ARP-replies from computer A computer B;

- create a new screen capture - Capture;

- connect by filters;
