Global problems require global solutions

No country in the world can lose its neutrality by joining the UN, because implementing sanctions, imposed by this organization against any state, is not qualified as "taking sides" in this or that conflict.

The main objectives of the foreign policy of all the Globe nations should include establishing international peace and cooperation, doing away with poverty, rendering humanitarian assistance and protecting the environment. They can be better fulfilled through the membership in the United Nations Organization.

No doubts, global problems require global solutions. We either perish together or succeed together. That's why many countries, Russia included, emphasize the need for working out specific mechanisms and targets to advance international cooperation.

Although the tangle of problems, we face today, is rather large, our ability to overcome various difficulties is far better now than it was some years ago. The question is can individual interests be overcome in favour of the long-term global objectives.

The world dictatorship, which "the global players" led by the USA are striving after, would lead to some new order in the world. But it is out of question. The advanced states, with the US included, must not act on their own. They must act in concert with all other nations of our planet.

It is necessary to conclude as many international agreements as possible to solve different problems: human rights violation, terrorism, environmental degradation, inadequate labour standards and others.

Economic globalization should proceed hand in hand with a profound political dialogue. Terrorist acts, which degrade humanity, must be confronted with the "Sword of Law".

All global problems should be settled by the joint efforts of the Globe nations through such influential international organiza-tions, as the UN, the UNICEF and many others.

There is no doubt that distance is no obstacle today for various contacts between the Globe nations. Being one of the most efficient means, facilitating people from various countries to learn more about each other's history and culture, scientific, 'economic and technological achievements, such contacts are constantly expan­ding. They contribute to establishing friendly and diplomatic relations, better understanding and mutual assistance.

Nowadays different nations are successfully cooperating in many fields: science and technology, economy, business, commer-ce, medicine, culture, sports, tourism, etc. Russia is no exception. It has various kinds of contacts in a lot of countries.

Many our scientists and researchers together with their foreign colleagues are hard working at solving various urgent problems. They participate in developing numerous international programs, including those ones in the fundamental and applied sciences. Many Of them are the members of different international organizations.

Our specialists are in great demand all over the world. They are engaged in the spheres of scientific research and modern computer technologies.

We are successfully cooperating with many countries in the cosmic space exploration. Joint flights of the Soyuz — Apollo spaceships, the Russian — made space station "Mir" and numerous sputniks, home _ made devices on the space apparatus to explore Mars, fruitful work at the International Space Station are the striking examples of our success.

Our country is taking part in the development of different joint projects on the environment protection with such states as France, USA, Finland, Norway, Germany and others.

We exchange specialists, extend our numerous contacts with a view to attract foreign investments into the innovative sphere and use the foreign experience in reforming our economy.

The Russian Federation is assisting many foreign countries in building various enterprises and power stations, in training their national personnel.

Russia exports a wide range of goods to foreign countries: gas, oil, different metals, timber, furs, raw materials, farm machines, etc. In their turn, foreign countries supply us with various equipment, consumer goods, food products, etc.

We set up joint enterprises with different foreign companies that export advanced technologies to our country and promote our goods to the world markets.

Together with many countries of the Globe, Russia is taking part in solving many pressing problems that cannot be solved separately. We join our efforts to combat terrorism and ethnic conflicts, drugs, hunger and human rights violation.

The all-round cooperation of the Globe nations is an important aspect of our reality. It should be based on principles of mutual benefit and mutual assistance, as it is the only way to secure stability, peace and further progress on the Earth.
