Exercise 8. Study the definitions of some terms from the Collins Cobuild English Language Dictionary.

Recruitment, is the act or activity of finding new members for an organization or new workers for a company or institution.

A position in a company or organization is a job or post in it, usually involving professional, managerial or clerical work, not manual work.

An interview is meeting at which someone asks you questions about yourself, your abilities, your experience, etc, especially in order to find out if you are suitable for a particular job.

A reference is a letter that is written by someone who knows you, which describes your character and abilities. When you are applying for a job, an employer might ask for references, for example in order to make sure that you are reliable and honest.
