1. The collapse of the old Eastern Bloc and the deregulation of markets in Hungary, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Poland have lead to a renaissance of Vienna.

2. Just a few years ago, the Austrian capital sat on the edge of uncertainty, next to the closed borders of Czechoslovakia and Hungary, now it is becoming the gateway and regionalfinancial center for developing economies around it.
