9. Make a historic transistor timeline. Use the following steps to help you.

1) List the events the timeline will include. Then, place them in order by time, from the earliest to the latest.

2) Think of a title for your timeline.

3) Research and note the specific dates when the events that you wish to include occurred. It is a good idea to note your source(s), too, so that you can return later and verify the dates, if necessary.

4) Decide on the limits and scale for your timeline. Measure your paper in its longest direction. Then, figure out how much time is between the earliest date and the latest date. Divide the length by the number of years (or months or weeks) you wish to represent. Then, use this number to choose how many years one centimeter will represent. Say that the line is 10 centimeters long and that one inch represents one year.

5) Use a ruler to draw a line across the paper. Draw it the length that you will need for as many years as you will represent. In the example, 10 years will require 10 centimeters.

6) Draw a small vertical line to divide your timeline at each centimeter mark. Label these divisions with the years you wish to represent.

7) Draw a dot on the line for each event you wish to represent. Remember that the events can go between years marks.

8) Add labeles to the dots. Add pictures and drawings.
