For how many people? - Well, there will be 5 people. - Would you like double or single rooms? - I think both would do. Could you ring me up, let’s say, two days before we leave? - All right. - Thank you very much. Good – bye. - Good – bye.
IV. Гра – імпровізація. In the form of the discussion the students negotiate the terms of booking accommodation. The students perform the roles of the hotel receptionist and the clients. They enquire about the price of the rooms, the services the hotel offers (no visual aids are available).
Role play on the topic “Meeting a partner”
Business function practised: expressing and discussing options, negotiating Lexical area: various problem situations, sales contract, conversational formulas of introductions and greetings, agreement /disagreement, approval/ disapproval Grammar involved Present Perfect, Past Indefinite, Future Indefinite, modal verbs. Pre–game exercises: Ex.1. Write down on the blank card your name, your job, the project you are working at. Exchange the cards so that none has their own. Introduce each other choosing different style in order of formality. Use the following introductory phrases:
Ex.2. Prepare a two minute presentation of a guided tour for a visiting foreign delegation.
