3. Starter motor

• Connect the battery positive terminal and starter motor cable using a jumper lead.

• Check the starter motor operation.

Repair or replace the starter motor

6. Main switch

Refer to “CHECKING SWITCHES” section in CHAPTER 8

Replace the main switch

A wire used as a jumper lead must have the equivalent capacity as that of the battery lead or more, otherwise it may burn.

7. Alarm connection

• Check the L/W bridge terminal (If it does not have an alarm)

Replace the bridge terminal

Replace the sidestand switch

4. Starter relay

• Disconnect the relay unit coupler from the wireharness • Connect the pocket tester (Ω x 1) and battery (12v) to the relay unit coupler terminals

• Check the starter relay for continuity

5. Starting circuit cut-off relay

• Disconnect the starting circuit cut-off relay coupler from the wireharness. • Connect the pocket tester (Ω x 1) and battery (12 v) to the starting circuit cut -off relay coupler terminals.
