I. Речевая подготовка 1. Организационный момент Приветствие. Teacher:Good afternoon,ladies and gentlemen! Glad to see you! How are you today? Сообщение темы и задач урока. T:As you remember, today we are having a final class on the text Three Men in a Boat by J. K. Jerome. 2. Речевая зарядка Режим работы: фронтальный T:As usual, we start with a little discussion. Here is a short passage from the novel Three Men in a Boat (Приложение #1. Речевая зарядка). (1) Read the passage, please, and say what Jerome’s recipe for happiness is. (диагностирующее чтение, ответ на вопрос) (2) What ingredients of happiness can you find in the extract under study? (3) What is the specific feature of Jerome’s style of writing? (main stylistic device) Can you find it in the short passage? II. Развитие умений неподготовленной монологической речи до уровня развернутого монологического высказывания (монолог-рассуждение) при сводном анализе художественного текста (отрывка из произведения Дж. К. Джерома Three Men in a Boat (to Say Nothing of the Dog) Режим работы: мини-группы (3 гр. х 3 чел.) T:Now imagine you are invited to London to an international students’ conference on literature studies, devoted to the 151st Birthday of J.K. Jerome and the 121st anniversary of the publication of his novel Three Men… Today the 3 best analysis of the story are to be chosen. We also have a special award for the most creative approach to presentation. Please divide into 3 groups/sections. Task 1: Present your research to your colleagues. The time limit for your presentation is 13 minutes. Don’t read your report, please; look and say. Task 2 (for those who listen): While listening to your colleague’s report, evaluate it according to the criteria suggested in the evaluation card (Приложение #2. Evaluation card I, II). You are free to ask questions. Task 3 (for the guests): Act as experts and evaluate the reports of the contestants. III. Task 4 (for everyone): So far you’ve listened to all the presentations in your section, you have 10 min. to discuss them, providing arguments for your point of view, count average mark for every presentation and choose the best one (Приложение #2. Evaluation card III). T:It’s time to bring our conference to the conclusion. Name the best presentation in your section, please, and explain why you consider it as the best one. And the most creative presentation is… IV. Завершение урока 1. Оценка работы учащихся на уроке T: Hand in evaluation cards with average points for analysis, please. So, for today’s class (name of the student) gets… points etc. 2. Подведение итогов Режим работы: фронтальный T: Thank you for your work. That’s been a great job. And now I have the following question for you: a) What aspects of the analysis did you find most difficult? b) What aspects were the most interesting ones? 3. Домашнее задание Режим работы: фронтальный T: We are passing over to studying a new text – To Sir, with Love by E. Braithwaite. Can you guess by the title what the text is going to be about? (антиципация по заголовку). Read the text at home and see if your suppositions were right. You home assignment is as follows: 1) Read the text To Sir, with Love by E. Braithwaite (p. 71-74) 2) Study Speech patterns on p. 69-70 and get ready with their literary translation. 3) ex. 2, p. 70. 4) Study Word combinations and phrases on p. 77. 5) ex. 4, p. 78 Thank you for your cooperation!
