9.Topographic symbols have different colours. They are black, brown, green, red and blue, and yellow.

Black is used for man-made objects (towns, churches, villages).

Green- for (woods, fields, bushes) vegetation and for all engineer objects (mine fields, wire entanglements).

Brown for a relief (hills, valley, mountains, ravines (овраги).

Red – for roads, for enemy troops.

Blue – for friendly troops and water (rivers, lakes, ponds, swamps).

Yellow – for contaminated areas.
