1. Ознайомтеся з проектом. Визначте і допишіть, як, на вашу думку, має підготувати­ся вчитель, а як мають підготуватися учні. Скористайтеся запропонованими ідеями.

UK or English-speaking enclave or area visited by English-speaking tourists, e.g. station or airport concourse, tourist attraction, etc. Clipboards, pencils, tape-recorder, portable video or polaroid cameras (if available), transport to the interview point. Language input using role play if necessary; collecting hardware, e.g. clipboards, cassette recorders; investigating suitable site with a large catchment area, bearing in mind the need to avoid bottlenecks; questionnaire design and back-up for your students’ preparation. Classroom discussion to find areas of interest; selection of topic and discussion of appropriate end product; questionnaire design; individual or pair-work to produce questionnaire sheet. 1 Ask your students to prepare the questionnaire in the classroom, with your help. Use simulation or role-play exercises to prepare them for difficult interviewees, if required. 2 The students organize working groups for the real-life street interviews, allocating tasks and ensuring a rotation of jobs. 3 You will need to deliver the students and their equipment to the catchment area and instruct them to scatter. Everyone should return to the pick-up point at a pre-arranged time. 1 Interview techniques; sub-skills – interrupting, repeating, eliciting, probing, concluding, etc. 2 Written skills: question forms and recording written information if audio or video recordings are not being made. 3 Non-UK location: students will need to preface their interviews with a formula, e.g. — Excuse me, do you speak English? The students present the results of their interviews to each other in class. Play back the audio or visual material for language and error analysis, etc., if appropriate. Ask your students to prepare a written record of selected interviews. You can set up an editing session of the audio recordings and get the students to produce a listening package which can be presented to another group. Finally, you could have a discussion on body language.
